In the Spring of 2014, our House Church embarked on a study of the Passover and how we can see Jesus active and present in that experience. In the early months of 2014, our House Church group engaged in a study titled “Your Divine Design” using Chip Ingram’s study materials. This study does an excellent job of categorizing the gifts of the Holy Spirit and Chip does a great job of walking participants through a process of discerning which of the gifts we possess and, particularly, which are our strengths. During the late months of 2013, our House Church studied the book of James. Pastor Cathy led the series for several weeks and others helped lead a week here and week there. We leveraged an inductive method to go through the book chapter by chapter. The study helped to unveil some of the timeless theological principles of faith and action that Jesus’ brother shares with Hebrews and Gentiles alike.
